1) The returns do include dividends, as noted above;
2) This doesn’t account for the tax you would have paid on the distributions. Not worth it at all.

The point was to test what is an average portfolio, recommended in the Canadian mags such as MoneySense.

I’m PRO individual dividend-paying stocks. But I’m even more pro writing calls on them. With these ETFs you can’t even do that.

You may have picked too broad a base.
