Hacked
What a headache. Why do people do this? My blog was hacked.
Took me a couple of hours to restore everything, that’s time well-wasted on a Saturday…
Many thanks to Linux by Example. And I’m now logging all comment activity in case they try it again; here’s how.
That sucks. What did they do?
They injected a line into my WordPress options (into the database) that was supposed to redirect traffic to their site. The way they did is by leaving a bunch of spammy comments with the code. I guess one of them worked.
Didn’t do it right, though, the entire site just went down.
Also uploaded several files, one of them was ‘allyourbaserbelongtous’ but they couldn’t get it to display on the site ๐
That just stinks. Guess you’re lucky that they couldn’t do their job well ๐
I just finished my weekend reviews and nothing much looks to have changed. With 5 or so trading days to the EOY, can’t see myself putting money to work this week or next. Looks like more sitting on hands.
Kat,
I was wondering what happened. Unfortunately the internet attracts the hackers & virus writers who revel in this type of behaviour. I thought that my computer had been invaded also. It turns out that the hard-drive had simply worn out. I too shall return, for the moment however I am using the wife’s AAPL
jog on
duc
TSS,
I’m of the same opinion – it’s just not that clear to me, and I’d rather wait than flip the coin (this time ๐ )
Duc,
after some thought, this may not have been random. I’m a bit unsettled, but whatever… Let’s hope Karma really is a b*tch.
AAPL?! Blasphemy ๐
