Popular Retail (Corporate) Tactic
“Word on the street” is that some big companies are reducing work hours so that the employees quit (in retail, if you’re employed under 40 hours you get no full time benefits, if under 20 hours – no benefits of any kind).
Then the company just doesn’t re-hire and doesn’t have to report any layoffs.
This is hearsay, but sounds plausible to me.
Wouldn’t be a company that rhymes with “GallMart,” would it?
Rhymes with “shmears” 🙂
Ha ha! I once had stock in that company! That and the one that rhymes with gaymart. Sold them both and now have Gallmart.
