Hmmm, a bit of an anomaly there. Dollar volume was 200% of the average amount. Probably something to do with ObamaCare.

Last time the $ volume spiked before the year end. That had to have been for tax reasons.
Another spike of a similar magnitude happened in September 2009. No idea why.
