Google Trends: Recession, Great Depression

Stock market must be starting to worry people again.

Here’s a chart for “recession” and “great depression” Google searches in the United States this year. Interest in these peaked in winter, returned in October and is on the rise again….

Sorry for the useless noise, but these charts really prettify my blog :)

    You know, the original “recession” index was calculated by the measuring of newspapers covers like WP and NYT. Don’t forget the Big Mac currencies stuff for Forex :)

    This one’s pretty funny. Do you use it to make any decisions?

    Magazine covers are still widely used (in the blogosphere) to pick market tops and bottoms, but I think it only works in retrospect now, because information moves around much quicker.
